Lake Of Dreams
A series of shows created for the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. I was involved in several shows from conception to completion as a technical artist at Core Studio. Puppets were fabricated by Michael Curry Design and the lighting was directed by Woodroffe Basset Design. Creative direction was handled by Kenny Ortega. You can now see it advertised on the Wynn site here.
The Lake of Dreams consists of seven elements: the stone wall, the movable head, two high definition sphere boats, LED lighting in the lake, a flying prop pulley, a puppet space above the wall, and lighting in the trees.
Our team was responsible for the lake, spheres, wall, and head graphics, including their choreography.
The Lake of Dreams updated several of their shows. I did a large amount of work on their Magical Swimmer show, but helped out in various capacities with other shows such as the Space Oddity show. Most of the work I did was technical effects through Houdini. I worked with several compositors to get our look. I went on-site to the Wynn in order to help in the final push for the project.
I also did a large previsualization of the lake using Unreal Engine 4. It had the capability to play back our video and audio synced with lighting and props. We used this to present our work to the client many times.
